I am Hugh McCreery, owner of this site. Currently, I am working in the computer industry, but I have worked previously as an engineer in the Broadcast Television industry. While I am comfortable in the computer industry, my first love is as a television engineer.

Software Quality Engineer. VERITAS acquired Seagate Software in May, 1999. After transferring to the Boulder site in November of 1998, I was placed on the QE team for Microsoft Windows 2000 Remote Storage Development. Responsibilities required the daily setup and configuration of the newest Windows 2000 builds, and the installation on the latest builds of the Remote Storage component. Recommendations of which builds should ship in the Windows product was also required. Responsibilities later involved a project working with Microsoft Exchange servers as a Software Test Developer. This position required authorship of programs designed to test the products currently under development.

March 1997 - May 1999
Seagate Software -- Heathrow, Fl
Software Test Engineer. Technical lead over R&D Quality Assurance lab.  Responsible for testing and releasing of Sytos Premium backup for OS/2, backup agents that run on various platforms supporting Backup Exec for Windows NT and NetWare, Assisted in design and testing of Oracle Agent for Windows NT and SAP R/3 :Oracle Agent for Windows NT. Part of testing effort that released BackupExec for Windows NT ver 7.0.  Assignments included maintenance (bug fixes and minor enhancements) of existing Agents for UNIX, OS/2, DOS, Mac, Windows 95/98, Windows NT (3.51, 4.0, and 5.0 ), and the continuation of testing new hardware device drivers for Sytos Premium. Also, assisted in the design and testing of various database backup agents.

Consultant. Consultant for Seagate Software. Worked on the testing effort for Sytos Premium for OS/2 version 2.2a. Hired on by Seagate Software in March of 1997.

Electronic Systems Tech 1. Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of various system installations. Systems included, Security CCTV systems utilizing microwave and fiber transmission equipment, SONY analog HDTV equipment, Park laser systems that include both Argon and Krypton lasers, Broadcast studio maintenance (various U-Matic, Betacam, ENG and studio Cameras, switchers, Jumbotron, etc.) used in the off-line production suites, and Ampro / Barco large screen video projectors. Other responsibilities included assisting in the programming of proprietary controller devices from AMX and Electrosonic and the continual maintenance of Electrosonic Video Wall systems. Computer related skills contain the design and implementation of a PC based NEXRAD weather tracking system, and an automated laserdisc test workstation. As part the electronic systems team, the responsibilities included constructing and implementing PMI schedules to try to keep park equipment at 0% downtime.

Associated Transportation of Florida -- Orlando, Fl
Independent Consultant. Responsible the design, construction and maintenance of 100-base-T network. Projects involved placing company on the Internet to allow them to accept online reservations, and track flights to and from Orlando. The position required in-depth knowledge of various network protocols, and networking technologies available.

August 1990 - March 1991
Imaging Video Ink.-- Orlando, Fl
Head Technician. This job required the ability to setup mobile television systems that could be comprised of a simple Betacam ENG setup to a fully endowed 4 camera, 3 tape mobile studio. Additional responsibilities also included the repair an alignment of Grass Valley switchers, broadcast and industrial grade Sony and Ikegami video cameras, Sony and JVC VHS, Betacam, 8mm, and U-matic tape decks. Some of the systems I have built were used for Florida based remotes for ABC, CBS, FOX, CNN, and MTV. Many of the skills here were heavily applied at SeaWorld of Florida.

Interests - personal
I have started compressing home videos to place on a personal FTP site so that my Florida relatives can see what I have been up to.. I also am currently setting up my own Web server, taking advantage of the USWest xDSL bandwidth. I am looking for a job that will allow me to pursue my interests as I continue to improve my skills.
